FINDING CALM IN CRAFTING

Crafting has always been my sanctuary—a place where I can lose myself in the soothing rhythms of creativity. There's something incredibly calming about the tactile process of making something beautiful with your hands. Today, I want to share a special project that brought me a lot of joy and tranquility: hand-stamped cards using the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set from Stampin' Up!® These handmade cards are perfect for sending heartfelt messages and adding a personal touch to any occasion.

Materials I used

  1. Thoughtful Expressions Stamp Set (Stampin' Up!®)
  2. Coloured card, I chose Misty Moonlight, Lost Lagoon and Mossy Meadow (but feel free to pick your own choice of colours )
  3. White ink pad
  4. Clear acrylic block (for mounting stamps)

Step-by-Step Instructions for Making Hand-Stamped Cards

1. Prepare Your Card Base

Start by choosing your colored cardstock. I opted for various shades of blue and green for a serene, natural look.

Cut your cardstock to the desired size. I opted for A5, so I just cut my A4 sheets in half.

Fold your cardstock in half using a bone folder to create a clean, crisp crease.

2. Stamp Your Design

Select your stamps; I used the Thoughtful Expressions set. I chose the hummingbird and floral designs for a delicate and elegant look. I loved how intricate and elegant the looked

Mount the stamp onto a clear acrylic block.

Ink your stamp with the white ink pad. Make sure the stamp is evenly coated.

Carefully press the stamp onto your cardstock, applying even pressure. Lift the stamp straight up to avoid smudging.

Repeat the stamping process to create a pattern or focal point on your card. I kept mine very uniform, but feel free to mix it up

3. Add Sentiments

Choose your favourite sentiment. Some of my favourites included  "Where in the world would I be without you?" and "Enjoy your day."

Ink the sentiment stamp with the white ink pad and position it on your card. Press down firmly and lift straight up.

6. Final Touches

Inspect your card for any smudges or imperfections. If needed, you can touch up with a white gel pen or a small paintbrush with white paint.

Creating these hand-stamped cards was a truly enjoyable and calming experience. I hope you find as much peace and satisfaction in making them as I did. Whether you're an experienced crafter or just starting out, this project is a wonderful way to express your creativity and send a little love to someone special.
